PIL: Opinion Dynamics in Social Networks

Mon 23 Jan

Professor Friederike Mengel

Department of Economics

All day, every day we make decisions about what we do – from what we eat and where we shop to who we vote for and how we save our money.

These decisions, although shaped by our own beliefs and opinions, are not formed in isolation. Instead they are influenced by others as we communicate within our social network and take other people’s experiences and opinions into account.

Professor Mengel will discuss how we can analyse these opinion-making networks.

Free admission and open to all.
