Vision dependent on vitamin A

The treatment of vitamin A deficiency can preserve vision and life.

A review of a middle-aged man with impaired vision found a vitamin A deficiency was the source of his impaired vision.

“Vitamin A deficiency is a systemic illness that can increase an individual’s risk of blindness, severe infections and mortality,” said Dr Watson, co-author of the review.

The first sign of a systemic illness such as vitamin A deficiency is often impaired vision.
