Women trapped in abusive relationships because they can’t afford to pay the bills

Women who are the victims of domestic violence are trapped in their relationships because they can’t afford to leave, according to a report from the University of New South Wales. An estimated 15-17% of Australian women are affected by domestic violence over the course of their lifetime. and some are compelled to return to an abusive partner because they can’t survive financially on their own.
