About this event

The University of Pretoria Alumni Office recently launched a series of Global Alumni Virtual Chats.

Join us as for our next discussion, as we talk to alumni from across Africa about the topic 'Global lockdowns: Learning, thriving… or just surviving!'

Our UP alumni are based across the globe, driving change in every facet of society. During these difficult times of COVID-19 and national lockdowns, each alumnus has had to face what the "new normal" means for them. We've asked Nthabeleng Matela, award-winning MetroFM radio presenter and DJ, to speak to four of our alumni, based in Nigeria, Namibia, Botswana and Kenya, about their unique experiences during these times.

You are invited to join us as we delve into the social, economic and political norms of these African countries, and listen to your peers as they share the lessons, and challenges, of life under lockdown in their corner of the world.

After attending this session, you'll understand:
• How your peers have learned, thrived – or perhaps just made it through day by day – during these challenging times;
• What you can do to utilise your UP education to grow and succeed;
• Some of the nuances around how different African cities have dealt with lockdowns.

We look forward to hosting you!

Note that by clicking "attend," you'll be notified via LinkedIn when we go live and be able to connect directly into the stream. You do not need to register elsewhere, and there is no advance link.
