Bad weather latest threat to butterflies

Although habitat loss was seen as the greatest threat to butterfly populations, Britain’s cold, wet summers also set back conservation efforts.

Bioscience researchers have used computer modelling and records to predict the location, size and growth of butterfly populations.

These findings could help prioritise sites for habitat conservation.
