Hannah Hoag has covered the environment, science and medicine for more than 15 years. She has written for Nature, Science, Wired, bioGraphic, The Atlantic, the New York Times, the Globe and Mail and Maclean’s, among others. She launched and ran Arctic Deeply, an independent digital media project covering circumpolar Arctic issues. She has graduate degrees in biology (human genetics) from McGill University and in science and medical journalism from Boston University.

Vinita Srivastava is a journalist, educator and interdisciplinary researcher who has reported and edited for the Village Voice, Savoy, VIBE, WBAI Radio and the New York Times Magazine. She was a journalism professor at Ryerson University where she was also the director of Verse City, a multimedia boot camp for marginalized youth. She has led media workshops at the National University of Rwanda, the Documentary Organization of Canada, Young People's Press and the City of Toronto.

She has a PhD in the ethics and anthropology of biomedicine and was a SSHRC Banting Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of British Columbia (2012-2015) and Yale Road Scholar in The SFU Writer’s Studio (2016). She has worked as a writer for Internet Magazine and The Independent, Web Editor for Greenpeace UK and knowledge mobilization consultant for many organizations including Mayo Clinic, Genome Canada and PLAN.

Lee-Anne Goodman is a longtime journalist who's worked in Washington, D.C., Ottawa and Toronto covering everything from the political ascent of Barack Obama during her years as White House correspondent to the fatal 2014 shooting on Canada's Parliament Hill. Before joining The Conversation Canada as its Politics, Business and Economics editor, she worked as Business Editor and Ontario Bureau Chief for The Canadian Press, managing a staff of more than 20 reporters and editors.

Susannah Schmidt is a journalist who worked as general reporter for Turtle Island News and edited for the United Church of Canada. For the Centre for Global Social Policy, Susannah wrote general-public stories to share research. Susannah has a Bachelor of Journalism from Ryerson University and a BA in Drama and Religious Studies from McGill University.
