Earth to support life for another 1.75b years – at least

Earth will be able to support life for at least another 1.75 billion years, according to new research by astrobiologists.

The study examined stars outside Earth’s solar system, and the planets within habitable zones in proximity to these stars, to predict the span of life on Earth.

They found that our planet will cease to be habitable somewhere between 1.75 and 3.25 billion years from now, as after this point temperatures would become so high that our oceans would evaporate.
