Fast food advertising intensifies over holiday season

Advertising companies strategically target families during busy times of the year when parents are likely to be less vigilant about fast food.

A study by Griffith University found that there was a significant jump in the length of television advertising blocks during the holiday period and that there were more fast food ads overall.

McDonald’s dominated the food advertising market with a 31% increase in the number of advertisements over the holidays.
