Gender-free environments create gifted students

Students that go to schools that avoid gender stereotyping are more likely to accept their talents as part of their identity, according to new research.

The University of Notre Dame study of gendered environments in elementary schools found that schools which foster gender stereotyping were more likely to produce students who denied their abilities.

However, gifted children were still found to be influenced by societal expectations.
