Geothermal energy to create fresh water for WA?

University of WA researchers aim to establish the feasibility of using geothermal and waste-heat products for desalination of brackish and saline water.

Researchers aim to identify what enables local water supplies to be produced with renewable energy in areas that may be lacking in both.

If all goes to plan, local industry, tourists precincts, smaller towns and Indigenous communities will be the beneficiaries of fresh water.
