The genetic discovery could be used to create a sorghum hybrid that does not flower and that accumulates as much as three times the stem and leaf matter of regular sorghum.
More stem and leaf matter means more biomass for bionenergy and biofuels production, making the process more streamlined that relying on regular, flowering sorghum.
