Hating your job can lead to back pain

People who work in unsatisfactory jobs are more likely to suffer from persistent lower back pain than those with a positive attitude.

Researchers found that a third of people studied with “niggling” back pain went on to develop pain that severely affected their career and social lives.

Incremental interviews with 315 patients found those who showed feelings of helplessness and fear about their condition were more likely to have the pain persist.
