IMDEA

Los Institutos IMDEA son centros de investigación de excelencia radicados en la Comunidad de Madrid. Se constituyeron entre 2006 y 2007 por iniciativa del Gobierno regional como fundaciones independientes.

Se centran en siete áreas estratégicas para la sociedad desde el punto de vista empresarial, científico y tecnológico: agua, alimentación, energía, materiales, nanociencia, networks y software.

La misión de los Institutos IMDEA es realizar y fomentar actividades de excelencia de I+D+i en la región de Madrid y, por extensión, en España, en estrecha colaboración con el sector productivo. Para conseguirlo, los Institutos IMDEA:

  • Desarrollan ciencia y tecnología innovadoras internacionalmente reconocidas.

  • Trasladan los resultados de la investigación a la sociedad por medio de un modelo eficiente de transferencia de tecnología.

  • Mantienen estrechas relaciones con el tejido empresarial.

  • Difunden el conocimiento científico.

  • Facilitan la colaboración interdisciplinar y entre los distintos agentes del sistema madrileño de ciencia y tecnología.

The IMDEA Institutes are research centres of excellence based in the Region of Madrid. They were established as independent foundations between 2006 and 2007 at the initiative of the regional government.

They are focused on seven strategic areas for society from a business, scientific and technological point of view: water, food, energy, materials, nanoscience, networks and software.

The mission of the IMDEA Institutes is to encourage excellent R+D+I and create an efficient science and technology development model while collaborating with the productive sector. In order to achieve this mission, the IMDEA Institutes:

  • Develop excellent and internationally recognized science and technology.

  • Pass on the results of the investigation to society through an efficient transfer of technology model.

  • Maintain close links with the business world.

  • The institutes disseminate scientific knowledge.

  • They also facilitate collaboration between different disciplines in the field as well as with the various organisations in Madrid involved in science and technology.
