Institute of Environmental Sciences, Jagiellonian University

The main fields of study at the Institute of Environmental Sciences are: evolutionary biology, physiological ecology, biodiversity in aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, ethology, plants-microorganisms interactions, ecotoxicology and stress ecology. We are also active in environmental monitoring, nature conservation and ecological education. We offer three different programmes to our students: Biology, Biology with Geography, Ecology and Evolution, Natural Resource Management and Environmental Conservation. Our teachers also give lectures to students of the Faculty of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Biotechnology. Our 60 PhD students participate actively in both research and teaching.
