As much of Australia gets warmer and drier due to climate change, koalas will shift to easter and southern parts of the country. In other words, they’ll move where all the people, traffic and dogs are.
University of Queensland researchers have called for protection and restoration of habitat in coastal areas, to give koalas a safe refuge.
A Senate Inquiry is currently considering listing the species under The Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act
