Lifestyle changes help treat erectile dysfunction

Changes to lifestyle factors help reverse erectile dysfunction, new research shows.

Over 800 men took part in the five-year study, with 31% of those experiencing some form of erectile dysfunction. Researchers found the cause of the dysfunction in many participants was a result of physical and lifestyle factors, such as obesity, advancing age, poor sleep and a high alcohol intake.

Lead researcher Dr Sean Martin said even when medication may be required, it is likely to be significantly more effective when combined with changes to poor lifestyle factors.
