New findings for childhood tumour research

A new gene sequencing project has identified potential treatment paths for a common childhood cancer.

Researchers say they more clearly understand what drives the tumours and can better target treatment for the most common malignant brain tumour in children – medulloblastoma.

Brain tumours account for about 20% of all childhood cancers.
