Plants a possible key to diabetes treatment

Traditional Aboriginal and Indian plants may help manage diabetes, a new study shows.

Twelve medicinal plant extracts were investigated to determine their potential to slow down two key enzymes in carbohydrate metabolism which affect blood sugar and diabetes.

Researchers say the results obtained in this study show that most of the traditional plant extracts have good potential for the prevention and management of diabetes.
