Melanie Voevodin

Melanie Voevodin is an independent dietitian, policy analyst and health economist.

Funded by the National Health & Medical Research Council, her research began in February 2011 and her doctoral thesis is due in 2018. Voevodin's research explores reasons for the mismatch between the intention of public health policy and Australia’s rising rates of food-related chronic diseases.

Over the course of candidature, Voevodin has lectured and tutored at Monash, La Trobe, and RMIT universities in epidemiology, ethics, global health, and, translational research.

Voevodin's analysis of the socio-politics of Australia’s food-health landscapes attracted international attention in 2013 with a scholarship from the American Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics’ Hunger and Environmental Nutrition, and again in 2016, with an “outstanding presentation” award by the International Association for Ecology and Health.
