Abel Brodeur is an Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at University of Ottawa. He received his Ph.D. in Economics at Paris School of Economics.

During the academic year 2013-2014, he was visiting the department of economics at UC Berkeley. In 2012-2013, he was visiting the London School of Economics as a participant of the European Doctoral Program in Quantitative Economics.

Brodeur's current research interests center around applied economics. He has worked on different topics including development, health and labor economics. Current projects include the evaluation of the health and economic consequences of prostitution in Southeast Asia and the examination of the effects of terrorism and mass shootings.
