Adaku Jane Echendu

I study disasters and disaster risk, climate dynamics, extreme climate events, and climate impacts. I frame my research within the paradigms of Sustainability, Sustainable Development and Environmental Justice. My research involves the use of qualitative and quantitative methods. An area of my research is focused on understanding flooding and seeking ways to manage and mitigate the impacts with the incorporation of local knowledge of people with lived and living experience of the disaster. I have a PhD in Environmental Studies from Queen's University Kingston where I work as a Research and Teaching Assistant. I am also engaged in other research projects centered around Food Sovereignty, Waste Research and Life Cycle Assessments.
