Adam is a Lecturer in Public Policy at the University of Western Australia, focusing on comparative politics and public policy. He completed his PhD at the University of Melbourne in 2018, comparing the politics of health care and pension reform in the United States and Sweden. He has previously spent time as a visiting researcher at the George Washington University and the University of Gothenburg

Adam's research focuses on the translation of political ideas and expert knowledge into public policy, with particularly in health policy and welfare states. His work has been published in scholarly journals such as Policy & Politics, Public Administration, Policy Sciences and The Journal of European Social Policy.
