Associate Professor, Political Science, College of the Holy Cross

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Political Science at the College of the Holy Cross. I study Comparative Politics with regional specializations in Africa and South Asia. My substantive interests include the study of political and gender-based violence, political parties, social movements and contentious politics, and ethnic and gender politics. I am also interested in the philosophy of social science and in small-N cross-regional comparisons.

I have conducted fieldwork on various facets of conflict and conflict resolution in Kenya, Rwanda, South Africa, Cambodia, India, and Nepal. My academic work has appeared in venues such as Human Rights Review; Human Rights Quarterly; African Conflict & Peacebuilding Review; Commonwealth & Comparative Politics; Politics, Groups, and Identities; African Studies Review; India Review; and Zed Books. I have also conducted policy analysis for the World Bank and the United Nations, and my writing and analyses have appeared in public-facing outlets such as the Monkey Cage blog at The Washington Post and Deutsche Welle.
