Lecturer in Health Law, University of New England

I am a lecturer in the School of Law at UNE. My PhD from University of Technology, Sydney was on the impact of neurological research and culture on the legal regulation of medical intervention on minors to assign or reassign sex categories. This topic encompasses a range of related issues. These are; legal definitions of sex, consent to special medical procedures on children, the connections between law and neuroscience discoveries, and legal and medical responses to intersex.
I am an expert on law as it impacts on intersex communities, law and gender, and health law more generally. I teach Contract Law, Medico-legal Issues, Neuroscience and Law, and Contemporary Issues in Health Law in the LLM and LLB programmes.
I am on the Board of Intersex Human Rights Australia
I am a member of the LGBTIQ+ Committee of Australian Lawyers for Human Rights
