Akka Rimon is an I-Kiribati PhD student researching the effects of climate change on human displacement.

Her work proposes labour migration as an economic form of adaptation for Kiribati.

She has been the foreign secretary for the Government of Kiribati and currently heads the World Bank office in Kiribati.
