Dr Al Chukwuma Okoli (BSc, MSc, Political Science), holds a PhD in defence and strategic studies from the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA). He holds another PhD in history and international studies, majoring in intergroup relations. Dr Okoli is a reader (associate professor) in political science at Federal University Lafia. Dr Okoli’s research interests revolve mainly around contemporary security studies, the field in which he has researched, consulted, and published widely. He has consulted for UN Women, Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) Abuja, Armed Forces Command and Staff College (AFCSC), Jaji-Nigeria, and National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). He is a triple laureate Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa's (CODESRIA) Institutes (Gender 2018, Higher Education, 2019, Democratic Governance, 2021) and a research fellow of IFRA-Nigeria. Dr Okoli has published in reputable academic journals, including Small Wars and Insurgencies (Routledge), African Security Review (Routledge), African Journal on Conflict Resolution (ACCORD, South Africa), Africa Development (CODESRIA), and Central European Journal of International Security Studies (Metropolitan University, Czech Republic). He a member of Amnesty International and Conflict Research Network West Africa (CORN-WA).
