Principal Lecturer in Invertebrate Biology, Liverpool John Moores University

I am principal lecturer in Invertebrate Biology at Liverpool John Moores University. I have interests in many aspects of invertebrate biology including forensic entomology and parasitology. I have written two textbooks, Essential Forensic Biology which is now in its 3rd edition and Parasitology - an Integrated Approach (co-authored with Dr Sarah Pitt) which is now in its 2nd edition. However, I have also worked on invertebrates as sources of pharmaceutically active substances and am currently investigating the extent to which insects can biodegrade waste plastic.
