Alberto Alemanno

Alberto Alemanno is Jean Monnet Professor of Law at HEC Paris and Global Professor at New York University School of Law in Paris. Due to his commitment to bridge the gap between academic research and policy action, he regularly provides advice to a variety of NGOs and governments across the world as well as international organizations, such as the the European Commission, the European Parliament, the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, the World Health Organisation, on various aspects of European Union law, international regulatory cooperation, international trade and global health law as well as evidence-based policymaking.

Originally from Italy, Alemanno is a graduate of the College of Europe and Harvard Law School. He holds a PhD in International Law and Economics from Bocconi University. Prior to entering academia fully time, he clerked at the Court of Justice of the European Union, worked as a Teaching Assistant at the College of Europe in Bruges and qualified as an attorney at law in New York.

He is the founder of TheGoodLobby, an innovative skill-based matching organization connecting people with expertise and knowledge with civil society organizations that need them.

His latest book is Lobbying for Change: Find Your Voice to Create a Better Society (Iconbooks, 2017).

Alberto was named 2015 Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum.

Alberto Alemanno est professeur de droit à HEC Paris. Il est titulaire de la Chaire Jean Monnet en droit de l'Union européenne, conférée par la Commission européenne. Il dirige la Clinique de droit européen en collaboration avec la New York University School of Law. Il fut référendaire à la Cour de justice de l'Union européenne ainsi qu'avocat au barreau de New York. Il détient des LL.M. de la Harvard Law School et du Collège d'Europe ainsi qu'un doctorat en droit international de l'économie de l'Université Bocconi. Il est le fondateur ainsi que le rédacteur en chef du European Journal of Risk Regulation (publié par Cambridge University Press), membre du Comité éditorial du Journal of Consumer Policy , et de celui de la Revue du Droit de l'Union Européenne , et enfin fondateur de la Summer Academy in Global Food Law & Policy (à sa neuvième édition). Il fournit des avis à des organisations internationales, parmi lesquelles l'Organisation de Coopération et de Développement Economiques (OCDE), la Commission européenne, l'Organisation Mondiale de la Santé ainsi qu'à des organisations non gouvernementales en matière de droit européen, de commerce international, de droit de la santé publique ainsi qu'en matière de réforme des politiques publiques. Alberto a été professeur invité à l'Université d'Amsterdam, à l'Université de Tokyo, à l'Université LUISS ainsi qu'à l'Université de St Gallen.

Alberto a été nommé Young Global Leader par le World Economic Forum de Davos en 2015.
