Ali Zain is a doctoral student of mass communication at the University of South Carolina. He completed his bachelor's degree from Pakistan and studied in Turkey for his master's degree, which enabled him to gain diverse experience of this field. His master's thesis focused on how new media technologies had enabled right wing political parties to produce and distribute their doctrinal populist discourse in developing countries like India.

Zain is interested in general areas of mass communication with an extensive focus on misinformation, digital discourse in politics and PR, and health communication. Benefitting from both qualitative and quantitative methodologies as well as more sophisticated computational and psychophysiological methods, he is always looking for enriching his research experience in the field of communication.
