Alice Wendy Russell

I am a transdisciplinary pracademic. My research interests include social dimensions of energy technologies and transition, responsible innovation, transdisciplinarity and research impact, technology assessment and deliberative democracy. I am generally interested in the intersections between technological development and democracy. My practices include dialogue, facilitation, process design, deliberative engagement, research impact assessment and care. I have worked in academia, as a public servant, and as a consultant.

I am currently a research fellow in the Battery Storage and Grid Integration Program at the Australian National University, focusing on social dimensions of neighbourhood batteries and their implementation. I am also an associate of the National Centre for the Public Awareness of Science Centre at ANU and the Centre for Deliberative Democracy and Global Governance at the University of Canberra, and one of the founders and organisers of the Knowledge to Action Network at ANU. I am also director of Double Arrow Consulting, a Canberra business specialising in deliberative engagement. I previously worked in the Commonwealth Department of Innovation, Industry, Science and Research, and before that as an academic at the University of Wollongong.
