I am an academic anaesthetist with appointments in the Departments of Medicine and Radiology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, and Pharmacology at The University of Melbourne, and in the School of Medicine, Deakin University. I have a Master of International Public Health focusing on infectious diseases and maternal health from the University of Sydney. My research interests include global health inequities in relation to pregnant women, improvements in patient care before, during and after surgery, and achieving equity in healthcare settings for patients, and now, in the COVID-19 era, for healthcare staff.
