Allison Williams

Professor, Faculty of Science, McMaster University

Trained as a health geographer, my first academic appointment was at Brock University in the interdisciplinary Health Studies Program. I then moved to the University of Saskatchewan, where I primarily worked with the interdisciplinary Saskatchewan Population Health and Evaluation Research Unit whilst also associate with the Department of Geography. I have been at McMaster in the School of Geography & Earth Sciences since 2004. My work is closely tied to creating evidence for policy change at various scales. I am currently leading a CIHR/SSHRC Healthy, Productive Work Partnership Grant addressing the mobilization of a voluntary Standard for workplaces, which provides direction on how to realize a carer-inclusive workplace:

Standard for Workplaces: B701-F17 – Carer-inclusive and accommodating organizations
