Candidate, Doctor of Juridical Science, New York University

Alma Diamond is a doctoral candidate at NYU Law's J.S.D. program, currently working under supervision of Professor Jeremy Waldron. Her doctoral research is in general jurisprudence, where she is working on a philosophical genealogy of law.

Alma Diamond holds an undergraduate degree in economics as well as postgraduate degrees in law (LL.B. and LL.M) from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa. She worked as a senior lecturer in law and microeconomics before moving to the U.S. In 2019, she completed an LL.M. in Legal Theory at NYU Law, where she was the recipient of the David H. Moses Memorial Prize. At NYU Law, Alma serves on the board of the African Law Association.
