Dr Amal Osman has developed simple clinical tools to measure upper airway collapsibility in people with obstructive sleep apnoea. These tools help us understand the mechanisms that contribute to airway closure in sleep apnoea and are now being used in several clinical trials to predict therapeutic outcomes for existing, targeted and novel sleep apnoea treatments.
