Amjed Rasheed

Dr Rashid is also a lecturer at the Institute of Political Science (IPS) at the University of Tübingen in Germany.
Before joining the Institute, he was a post-doc research fellow at the School of Government and International Affairs (SGIA) at Durham University, where he is currently a visiting fellow.
Dr Rashid is a board member of Iraqi-Kurdistan based Open Think Tank (OTT).
He is currently working on two research projects - one on the rise of China and authoritarian reinforcement in the MENA region, and the second is on drivers of violent extremism (with Uppsala University and the Berghof Foundation).
He is the associate editor of Durham based Shura Councils in the Persian Gulf Monograph Series, and al-Sabah Insights.
