Amna Khalid specializes in modern South Asian history and the history of medicine.
In her work, Amna studies the connection between Hindu pilgrimage and the spread of epidemic disease in northern India during the 19th and early-20th centuries. Her work also explores the role and agency of subordinates in the broader context of imperial and colonial governance in British India.

Amna has a special interest in issues of campus climate including freedom of expression on college campuses.
