Dr Amy Johnson is an early career researcher and lecturer in Journalism and Public Relations at CQUniversity in Queensland. Her research focus is military-connected communities. Her current projects include the Early Childhood Defence Project, which develops research-based, free online resources for educators and parents to better support young children from Australian military families as well as projects which enhance veteran and families well-being. Amy has lived experience of military service in the Australian Defence Force (Reserve) and the partner of an ADF veteran. A passionate educator, Amy is also the lead researcher in the STRIVE (Self-Regulated Tertiary Research Initiative for Vibrant Education) program, which evaluates the effectiveness of self-regulated learning approaches in undergraduate courses. Her work has been published in a range of scholarly journals and she is a regular public commentator.
