Early Career Fellow, Centre for Women's Studies and Gender Research, The University of Queensland

I hold an Early Career Development Fellowship in the Centre for Women’s Studies and Gender Research at Monash University. I currently lecture in gender studies and popular culture. My research focuses on gender representation in self-made media and youth communication practices. I am currently working on a book about young women’s self-representations on social network sites and changing performances of femininity. My work on social network site representations appears in Continuum, Outskirts and in the international anthology Youth Culture and Net Culture. My work on online ‘cam girl’ performances appears in Next Wave Cultures: Feminism, Subcultures, Activism, edited by Anita Harris.
