Andrew C. Worthington

Professor Andrew Worthington completed his bachelors degree at the University of New England, hold Masters degrees from the University of NSW and the University of New England and obtained his doctorate from the University of Queensland.

His previous academic appointments comprise the University of New England, the Queensland University of Technology and the University of Wollongong and he currently teaches corporate finance and financial markets and institutions. He enjoys research supervision and have supervised more than 40 theses and dissertations and marked in his areas of expertise on nearly 40 occasions. He has received several awards for good teaching and supervision practice.

He has also taken an active role in academic leadership and professional service, including membership and chairing of University, Faculty and School Professional Development, Thesis Examination, Postgraduate Research Policy, Research Development, Investment and Superannuation Advisory and Human Research Ethics Committees, on Academic Senates and Boards, as a Head of Discipline and School and on industry advisory committees. Currently he is the elected representative of the Griffith University professoriate on the University Research Committee, the finance HDR convener, and the elected university academic representative on the UniSuper Consultative Committee. He is a member of the Economic Society of Australia, the Accounting and Finance Association of Australia and NZ, the American Council for Consumer Interests and a Senior Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
