Andrew deWaard is Assistant Professor of Media and Popular Culture at the Department of Communications at UC San Diego. He is the co-author of The Cinema of Steven Soderbergh: indie sex, corporate lies, and digital videotape. His work has appeared in JCMS: Journal of Cinema and Media Studies, Journal of American Studies, Fight the Power: The Spike Lee Reader, Habitus of the ’Hood, Oxford Bibliographies, and Cinephile. His current book project examines the financialization of film, television, and popular music.
