Andrew Goldsmith was awarded emeritus status by Flinders University in December 2021. For the previous eight years, he held the post of Director of the Centre for Crime Policy and Research. He trained in law, criminology, and social science. He has published on a range of criminological topics, including transnational policing, counter-terrorism, organized crime, restorative justice and young offenders. He is currently looking at criminal uses of the Internet, in particular ransomware, and the significance of guns in youth cultures. He is also a Visitor in the School of Global Regulation and Governance, Australian National University.
