I built a career in television and radio before moving into the teaching of journalism. I started out working in radio in Adelaide, Sydney, Perth and then Hong Kong, before I moved into TV News. In TV I was a Chief of Staff, Producer and Researcher at various commercial TV stations Perth and the ABC. Before my move to teaching I was workjng in news management at the Ten Network as a Deputy News Manager and Senior News Producer.

Most recently I was the TV Content Manager for the Host Broadcaster at the 2013 CHOGM in Sri Lanka.

As an academic I’ve recently been involved in a study examining how journalists and news organisations use social media to do their jobs. I have taught TV News and Current Affairs, Radio News and longer form radio. Most recently I’ve delivered units in Photo and Video Journalism, Radio, Web News Production as well as special projects.
