Andy Gibbs is currently Subject Group Leader in the Centre for Wellbeing and Health at Edinburgh Napier University, United Kingdom. The Centre delivers bespoke programmes and projects in Health Care and Clinical Research in China, Singapore, and Hong Kong.

Andy is a former UK Bologna Expert with wide ranging involvement in supporting European Higher Education Reforms in the UK and beyond. He was a member of the Bologna Follow Up Working Group on recognition of qualifications, a steering committee member for UK NARIC, which is the agency responsible for examining the equivalence of qualifications and adviser on Bologna/Higher Education reform expert training seminars to UNICA/Brussels Education Foundation.

He was a contributor to the MOCCA curriculum design project. and taking a learning outcomes based approach has led a number of curriculum development events and projects, with Ministries and universities, on Higher Education Reforms (Armenia, Cameroon, Lebanon), Qualifications Frameworks (Kyrgyzstan, Malta), Programme and Module Development (Lithuania, Czech Republic).

He has recently published an assessment of China and ASSEANs readiness for a Bologna Process. He is a member of the European University Association Institutional Evaluation Pool undertaking university quality evaluations in Kazakhstan, Montenegro, Portugal, Slovakia, Turkey and Romania. He has participated in ENQA (the European Quality Agency) national quality agency reviews.

President of the Florence European Nursing and Midwifery Network, he has contributed to EU policy dialogue on Skilled European Health and Social Care workforce; and Migration and European Healthcare. Andy has published articles related to Higher Education integration on Europe and ASEAN.
