Lecturer in Higher Education, University of Surrey

I am a Lecturer in Higher Education at the University of Surrey. I like researching how persons, who may be marginalised, either study or teach within the context of higher education.

I have a BSc in Physics and an MPhil in Engineering which I did in the Caribbean, where I am from. After becoming interested in how students learn as a university teaching assistant, I did my PhD in educational technology at the Open University looking at how students learn mathematics with software. Since then, I've looked at a range of issues including, how early career academics learn from each other during their professional development and how international academics adapt to teaching as they move between countries.
