Dr. Duff's area of research interest broadly considers Human Resource Management from a micro perspective, looking at how work and organizations impact employees. His published research includes:
1. The consideration of the role of leadership styles in performance management coaching
2. Exposing how manager absenteeism impacts the absenteeism of subordinates
3. Considering work how work and career contribute to suicide, and
4. Exposing how experiencing shame at work compromises innovative behaviour.
His current research explores how workers who live in vans navigate work and van-living.
