Anna Gupta is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work in the Department of Social Work at Royal Holloway, University of London. She is involved with the MSc in Social Work, post-qualifying and doctorate level programmes in the department. Anna is a qualified and registered social worker with extensive experience of child care and protection social work, including work as a children's guardian and expert witness in public law family court proceedings. She has researched and published work on various aspects of child welfare, including on working in the family courts, with families living in poverty, child neglect and social work with black and minority ethnic families. She is involved in an ESRC funded seminar series of unaccompanied and separated children seeking asylum, and also on work exploring the application of the Capability Approach to social work practice with children and families.
