Annabelle Workman

Annabelle (Belle) Workman is a social scientist driven by the need to develop healthier climate and energy policies. With a background in political science and public health, Belle worked for the National Health and Medical Research Council in clinical practice and research translation. In 2019 she completed a PhD investigating the role of health in the development of climate mitigation policies in Australia, the EU, China, and the US. Since her PhD, she has undertaking research on air quality-related health impacts and the energy transition. She is now a Research Fellow at Melbourne Climate Futures and the Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, where she co-Chairs the Climate Collaborative Action for Transformative Change in Health and Healthcare (CATCH) Lab with Professors Kathryn Bowen and Eugenie Kayak. She is investigating the potential health impacts of current and emerging renewable energy technologies across their full life cycles and implications for the just energy transition.
