Anne Rolton Vignier is a Marine Scientist working on shellfish and microalgal health and disease, at the Cawthron Institute in Nelson. Her research focusses on the impacts of various stressors, both biotic (e.g., harmful algae, environmental contaminants and pathogens) and abiotic (e.g., temperature) on valuable fish and shellfish species, particularly during their early life stages. This research builds on her prior experience in microalgal and shellfish rearing, as well as her expertise in cellular biology. She leads the harmful algae research in the Aquaculture and Biosecurity groups at Cawthron and is involved in numerous stress, health and disease related research projects.
