Anthony James

Professor Anthony James has been teaching at the University level for over 15 years, and at Miami since 2012. His faculty appointment is in the department of Family Science & Social Work. Prior to his academic career, Dr. James served in the US Army for 9.5 years, and worked in social services (e.g., investigator for child abuse and neglect) for 5 years.

Dr. James' research focuses on advancing family science and positive youth development. He has experience in writing and teaching about family theory. He is the past deputy editor of the Journal of family Theory and Review, and he currently serves as editor-in-chief of Marriage & Family Review. Additionally, Dr. James has written several books.
