PhD Candidate and Lecturer, Staffordshire University

I am a doctoral scholar and part-time Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology in the School of Life Sciences and Education at Staffordshire University.
I completed my undergraduate and master’s degrees in Sport and Exercise Psychology (BPS accredited) at Staffordshire university and Loughborough university, respectively. From this, I undertook a PhD entitled “The role of social identity leadership in psychophysiological responses to stress” in 2017. The PhD aims to identify how leadership (in a variety of domains) affects a group members approach to stressful situations. I have been involved in a number of research projects relating to irrational beliefs and psychological distress in addition to my PhD research. I am the lead sport psychologist at Port Vale FC academy.
